Besides Angel Di Maria, Lionel Messi Also Received Death Threats In Rosario

JAKARTA - Rosario Police, Argentina, is busy with a case of death threats against Angel Di Maria and her family.

The threat emerged on Monday, March 25, 2024, local time. The perpetrator threatened Di Maria's family because rumors emerged that the 36-year-old player would return to his childhood club, Rosario Central, when his contract with Benfica expires at the end of this season.

Luckily, the local police managed to arrest the perpetrator two days after the threat or on March 27, 2024 local time.

Three people were named as perpetrators chaired by Pablo Actit. Then, two other names were Sara Belen Gtuerrez and Gabriel Ismael Pastore.

After the arrest, the police linked the threat to Di Maria to the terror experienced by Lionel Messi's family.

About a year ago, a supermarket owned by Messi's wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, in Rosario was shot by an unknown person.

A message was later found at the scene of the incident that read: "Messi, we are waiting for you."

The threat to Messi has finally become clearer along with the incident that happened to Di Maria.

Initially, the police suspected that the threat to Di Maria was related to Rosario Central's rival hoodigan who did not like the attacker to return to his hometown.

However, the police revealed several other facts. You see, they confiscated firearms and cocaine-type drugs while securing the perpetrator.

No wonder, the investigation is still ongoing and continues to be investigated. The reason is, the police found that there was a connection between the perpetrators of threats and the wholesale drug trafficking.

Rosario's initial police findings stated that the perpetrators of death threats to Di Maria had ties to a large drug cartel based in Rosario named Los Monos, otherwise known locally as Dylan Cantover.

However, the police have not confirmed whether the cartel acted as the mastermind who ordered the attack on Di Maria and her family or not.
