Leading The First Exercise Of The Indonesian National Team, Shin Tae-yong Focuses On Player Recovery

Shin Tae-yong leads the Indonesian national team to undergo the first day of TC (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team coach, Shin Tae-yong, led the inaugural training camp of the Garuda Squad on Monday, March 18, 2024, WIB night, at the Madya Stadium. Recovering the condition of the players is the main menu.

The material was emphasized by Shin Tae-yong because he was well aware that the players who came from domestic and foreign competitions were not in maximum performance. You see, the players have just defended each team or have gone through a long journey.

"Indeed, TC has just started, yes. Today is just a light exercise for recovery," said Shin Tae-yong on Monday, March 18, 2024.

"Indeed, this is the first day we are training. Moreover, many players are from abroad. The journey is very far away and certainly tiring too," he said.

"Local players are the same. This weekend they are competing," he said.

Although on the first day of focus on recovery material, Shin Tae-yong also did not want to waste time. He admitted that he would step on the gas to immediately provide tactical material as a provision against Vietnam.

"The remaining two days we will face Vietnam. We will prepare this team to fight Vietnam so we know how we have to win."

"Although we are focused on recovering for today, I will focus on tactics starting tomorrow and the day after tomorrow," said Shin Tae-yong.

On the first day of TC, there were four players who had not joined the 26 names who were called. They are Thom Haye, Ragnar Oratmangoen, Nathan Tjoe, and Sandy Walsh.

The training camp agenda is a preparation for the Indonesian national team to face Vietnam in the 2026 World Cup Qualification in the Asian Zone.

The Indonesian national team will meet Vietnam twice. First, the duel was held at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 20.30 WIB. Then, the Garuda Squad visited Vietnam headquarters, My Dinh Stadium, on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at 19.00 WIB.
