Fahmi Basam, a racer from Polewali Mandar, won the podium at the Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) Underbone 150cc class. In the race which took place at the Buriram Circuit, Thailand, Saturday, March 16, Fahmi became the fastest in round 1.

The Yamaha LFN HP969 team racer who started the race from the third grid successfully defeated his fellow Indonesian racer Wahyu Aji Trilaksana who was in second place. While the third position is occupied by Filipino racer April King Mascardo.

Fahmi Basam, in his statement received in Makassar, acknowledged that the competition in the event was very tight and the race was very tense. He admitted that he was grateful to be out as the champion at the event.

Fahmi Basam's victory in the first UB150 series race complements the competitive competition of every racer from free practice sessions, qualifiers to races.

Fahmi remained consistently in the top three and managed to reach the first podium. He specifically presented this victory for the families who were present at the circuit.

"I dedicate this victory to the team, family and boss H Putra who came all the way from Batu Licin," he explained.
