Wahyu Retno Wulandari Qualifies For The 2024 Paris Paralympics

JAKARTA Indonesian parapanahan athlete, Wahyu Retno Wulandari, qualified for the Paris 2024 Paralympics which will take place from August 28 to September 8, 2024.

Retno got a ticket to the prestigious event while appearing in the world-ranked tournament, the Eighth Fazza Para-Fanahan which took place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on March 2-7, 2024.

"This time, we have a new impression for our Indonesian exhibition team because we were able to add one ticket to the Paris 2024 Paralympics," said the exhibition coach, Idya Putra Harjianto.

In the Eighth Para-Panan Fazza, Retno appeared in the recurve women open number. The athlete who was born on December 31, 1987, returned home in the round of 16 after losing against Thai athlete, Phatharahon Pattawaeo.

In addition to ensuring one ticket to the 2024 Paralympics, the parapanahan team also won one silver medal through Ken Swaguglang.

Ken Swaguglang has not been able to present a gold medal after the men's compound number final lost against India's archer, Rakesh Kumar, with a score of 143-147.

"I am grateful for the achievements that have been obtained by myself and the achievements of the exhibition team in this tournament in Dubai. This is a world-class archery event that is attended by the best athletes from all over the world," said Ken.

The five athletes are Kholidin, Setiawan, Ken Swaguglang, Teodora Audi Ferelly Ayudia, and Wahyu Retno Wulandari.

Meanwhile, overall Indonesia has passed 13 athletes to the Paris 2024 Paralympics. The target is 27 athletes who are prepared to get tickets to the world's largest multi-branch.
