Persebaya Failed To Take Advantage Of Gold Opportunities, Detained By Madura United Draw

SURABAYA- Persebaya Surabaya had to settle for sharing points with Madura United after drawing 0-0 in the 29th week of Liga 1 2023/2024 at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium on Wednesday, March 13 evening.

Persebaya appeared more dominant in the first half by creating several golden opportunities. However, poor finishing made them fail to score. Meanwhile Madura United appeared solid and disciplined in defending.

In the 20th minute, Silvio Junior got a golden opportunity after receiving a pull pass from Sho Yamamoto. However, his shot was blocked by Madura United goalkeeper Muhammad Ridho.

Eight minutes later, it was Marselino Ferdinand's turn to get a golden opportunity. Unfortunately, Ridho's free kick could still be parried.

Madura United is not without a chance. In the 35th minute, they got a golden opportunity through Beto Goncalves. However, his kick could still be blocked by Persebaya goalkeeper, Ernando Ari Sutaryadi.
