Qatar 2024 Test Results: Francesco Bagnaia Shows Fastest

JAKARTA The defending MotoGP champion, Francesco Bagnaia, again became the fastest on the second day of pre-season testing at the Lusail Circuit, Qatar, Tuesday, February 20, 2024.

In the final test closing the pre-season series, the Italian leads the time record with 1 minute 59.952 seconds. The record broke the unofficial lap record.

The racer who is familiarly called Pecco is ahead of his teammates in Ducati Lenovo, Enea Bastianini. The difference in time between the two riders was 0.120 seconds.

The results obtained on the last day perfected Bagnaia's impressive record during pre-season. Previously, he became the fastest on the first day in Qatar and became the best in Sepang.

Taking third place on the last day was Aleix Espargaro from Aprilia. The Spaniard is 0.308 seconds adrift of Bagnaia, who will still be favorites in the race for champions this season.

Meanwhile, Marc Marquez who defended Gresini Racing became the best Ducati satellite racer. The six-time world champion finished in fourth place followed by Raul Fernandez from Trackhouse Aprilia.

Following that Espargaro's teammate, Maverick Vinales, made Aprilia three in the top six. They were followed by Ducati's Jorge Martin (Pramac), and last November's winner Fabio at Giannantonio (VR46).

As for completing the top 10 is Brad Binder from KTM in ninth position followed by Marco Bezzecchi who defended Valentino Rossi's team, VR46.
