Zidane Enters Top List To Replace Tuchel At Bayern Munich

JAKARTA - Bayern Munich raised the news that Thomas Tuchel's position was on the brink. Zinedine Zidane's name is at the top of the list as a substitute for the manager's seat.

Munich's management is clearly furious to see the team's performance lately. They lost 2-3 against Bochum on Sunday, February 28, 2024.

FC Hollywood is now collecting 50 points and eight points behind leaders of the Bundesliga 2023/2024 standings, Bayer Leverkusen.

It was the third successive defeat in all competitions after losing 0-1 at Lazio headquarters in the first leg of the 2023/2024 Champions League last 16.

The poor performance added to Tuchel's pressure. However, Munich is claimed to still want to keep the former Chelsea manager until at least the end of the season.

However, Bayern Munich still has to prepare another plan. One of the most prominent candidates discussed internally was the former Real Madrid Manager, Zidane.

There is no concrete step at this time, but Bayern appreciates the French manager thanks to his aura and experience.

The news of Bayern Munich's interest in Zidane was revealed by German football transfer expert Florian Plettenberg.

"FC Bayern wants to continue Tuchel at least until the end of the season, as always reported. The boss (Tuchel) is now playing games after matches. That's why they are considering plan B and C."

Zidane has been unemployed since leaving Real in May 2021. This means that the 51-year-old man could be brought in at any time if Bayern decided to make changes in the middle of the season.

Zidane's record as a manager is quite classy. He won the Champions League three times during his term at Real Madrid and won the La Liga trophy twice.

Interestingly, Bayern Munich is not only targeting Zidane. As a reserve plan, they included the names of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Xabi Alonso.

However, Alonso is clearly difficult to recruit from Bayer Leverkusen. Apart from lifting the team's performance, he is also a strong candidate to replace Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool at the start of next season.
