JAKARTA - The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations has been completed. Host Ivory Coast successfully won after beating Nigeria 2-1 in the final at the Alassane Quanttara Stadium, Abidjan, Monday, February 12, 2024, early morning WIB.

Ivory Coast came from behind to ensure the third title of the African Cup of Nations.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) awarded a number of awards at the closing ceremony of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Simon Adigra was named Man of the Match Final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations after donating two assists.

Despite not finishing as champions, Nigerian captain William Troost-Ekong won the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Player of the Year award.

Then, Guinea-Bissau dangerous player, Emilio Nsue Lopez, won the Golden Boot or Top Score of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations after scoring five goals throughout the tournament.

South African goalkeeper Ronwen Williams was selected as the Best Goalkeeper of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations for his heroic actions when he was ranked third in the tournament.

He contributed to Bafana Bafana's victory in the penalty shootout against the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

In total, he has made four penalty saves against Tanjung Verde in the quarter-finals and two others against RD Congo in the race for a bronze medal.

In addition to finishing third in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, South Africa also received the Fair Play Team award.

The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations champion trophy was delivered directly by Togo football legend Emmanuel Adebayor, which was handed over by Ivory Coast President Alassane Outattara, along with CAF President Dr.Patrice Motsepe, and FIFA President Gianni Ingantano, to Ivory Coast captain Max Gradel.

The ceremony also included the official handover of the CAF flag to the Moroccan Royal Federation to signal the handover of the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations host.
