David Beckham Mocked Because Lionel Messi Didn't Play On An Inter Miami Tour In Hong Kong

JAKARTA David Beckham was ridiculed by around 40 thousand spectators at the Hong Kong Stadium, who came to watch the Inter Miami tour match on Sunday, February 4, 2024. The reason was that Inter did not lower their star, Lionel Messi.

The audience did not pay cheaply for the friendly match between Inter Miami and Hong Kong XI's team, which Inter won 4-1. The ticket price for the match reached IDR 7 million, and the audience really wanted to see Messi because he was the main magnet.

Messi was not installed due to a hamstring injury when Inter was beaten 0-6 by Al Nasser in Riyadh last week. But the audience in Hong Kong didn't care. They wanted Messi to perform.

Beckham's apology was actually replied with ridicule from the audience. Not even a few asked for ticket money to be returned.

We've been waiting for this opportunity for almost 10 years. This is a rare opportunity because Messi will retire soon. That's why we were so disappointed," one of the audience said, as quoted by the Daily Mail.

"I flew away from Melbourne for this game. And I paid a fortune not just to see Messi sit, because he's not a model," said another audience.

After appearing in Hong Kong, Inter Miami resumed its tour of Japan to face Vissel Kobe, Wednesday 7 February. Then flew to Argentina against the football team during Messi's boy, Newell's Old Boys.
