PBSI Releases List Of Indonesian Players At The 2024 Asian Team Badminton Championships

Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri are included in the Indonesian team for the 2024 Asian Team Badminton Championship (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA - PBSI officially released a list of players who will appear as representatives of Indonesia in the 2024 Asian Team Badminton Championships.

The 2024 Asian Team Badminton Championships will be held at the Setia City Convention Center, Selangor, Malaysia, on February 13-18, 2024.

Indonesia sent representatives for the men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, and women's doubles.

The men's singles sector is filled by Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo, Alwi Farhan, Yohanes Saut Marcellyno, and Alvi Wijaya Chairullah.

Then, in the men's doubles number, there are Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin, and Rahmat Hidayat/Yeremia Erich Yoche Yacob Rambitan.

The women's team contains Putri Kusuma Wardani, Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo, Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi, and Stephanie Widjaja in the single sector.

Meanwhile, the double number will be represented by Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi, Ribka Sugiarto/Lanny Tria Mayasari, and Rachel Alllessya Rose/Meilysa Trias Puspitasari.

Based on the draw results, the Indonesian men's team is in Group D with South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia.

Then, the Indonesian women's team was in Group B with Hong Kong and Kazakhstan.

Rionny Mainaky as the Head of the PBSI Development and Achievement Division advised the Indonesian men's and women's teams to always be vigilant. Moreover, this tournament is part of the qualification for the main round of the Thomas and Uber Cups in May 2024.

"Men's teams, of course, South Korea must be wary of, especially at the last meeting at the Asian Games we lost. If we want to win the group, of course we must be able to win from them."

"The women's team, the opportunity to win the group is more open as long as we don't underestimate the opponent," said Rionny, quoted from the official statement of PBSI on Thursday, February 1, 2024.

"We will certainly continue to try to give the best results to qualify directly for the Thomas and Uber Cups, but now the target is to qualify for the group first," said Rionny.
