Round Of 16 Complete, Here's A List Of 2023 Asian Cup Quarter-Final Teams

Japan confirmed tickets for the 2023 Asian Cup quarter-finals after defeating Bahrain (doc. AFC).

JAKARTA - The last 16 of the 2023 Asian Cup will be completed on Thursday, February 1, 2024, early morning WIB. The last two tickets to the quarter-finals were obtained by Japan and Iran after defeating Bahrain and Syria.

Bahrain, the winner of Group E, faced Japan as runners-up in Group D. Samurai Blue who was one of the candidates for the 2023 Asian Cup winner to win 3-1 thanks to goals from Ritsu Doan, Takefusa Kubo, and Ayase Ueda. Meanwhile, one Bahrain goal came from the Japanese goalkeeper, Zion Suzuki.

Shifting to the Iranian vs Syria match. The match was fierce because it was colored by penalty goals. At normal time 2 x 45 minutes, there were two goals from the spot. Iran took the lead thanks to Mehdi Taremi's goal which Omar Khribin replied to.

In the extra round 2 x 15 minutes, no goals were created so the match had to continue into the penalty shootout. This tos-tos round belonged to Iran after five of its executors successfully carried out their duties. Syrian camp, Fahd Youssef failed to carry out his duties.

Previously, Japan and Iran, there were already six countries that ensured the top eight steps.
