Where's Jurgen Klopp Berlabuh?

JAKARTA - Jurgen Klopp left Liverpool at the end of this season. A number of new ports await the German manager.

Rumors say Klopp is going to Spain to take charge of Barcelona after Xavi Hernandez confirmed his resignation when this season ended.

Until now, Klopp's steps have not been clear even though Xabi Alonso has become a favorite to replace him at Anfield.

He remains steadfast in his stance rejecting the lead of other clubs in England and said he would take at least one year to rest.

"There is no club, no country for next year. No other English clubs."

"In fact, if I didn't have anything to eat, it wouldn't have happened," Klopp said at The Sun.

Despite insisting to rest after the end of this season, rumors remain circulating. A number of clubs and even national teams have the potential to become the new destination of the German manager.

England national team

Gareth Southgate's current contract in the England national team expires at the end of this year. Euro 2024 will be his fourth major tournament.

Replacing Southgate in the steering seat of The Three Lions allows Klopp to stay in England without having to face Liverpool.

However, the English Football Federation (FA) has already promoted Southgate's successor, Lee Carsley, who currently handles England U-21. Carsley has a big chance to replace Southgate after he turned down the opportunity to become manager of the Republican National Team of Ireland.

German national team

Klopp is rumored to be the architect of the German national team. The German Football Federation (DFB) sacked Hansi Flick in September 2023 before giving Julian Nagelsmann a short-term contract until the end of Euro 2024.

This allows Klopp, who admits his energy is no longer as high as it used to be, to escape from the intensity of his daily club management.

Real Madrid

Real Madrid's managerial situation improved after Carlo Ancelotti signed a new contract in December 2023.

He has been widely linked to work in Brazil before signing an extension until 2026.

Los Blancos are currently behind the 2023/2024 La Liga surprise leader, Girona.

The failure to win the league or Champions League this season could get the club's attention turned to an unemployed Klopp this summer.

Barcelona

Barcelona is in a stressful situation. The club legend, Xavi Hernandez, decided to withdraw at the end of this season after a 3-5 defeat to Villareal in La liga 2023/2024.

Despite winning the league last season, Xavi turned out to be frustrated, especially since there is a possibility that Barcelona will fail to win the trophy this season.

The Blaugrana are in fourth place in La Liga 2023/2024 and 11 points adrift of the leaders of the standings. Reportedly the club has included Klopp's name as a potential candidate to replace Xavi.

Borrusia Dortmund

Before becoming Liverpool's manager in 2015, Klopp spent seven years leading Borussia Dortmund.

During that time, he won the league title in a row and reached the Champions League final.

Dortmund is now managed by West Ham's former assistant, Edin Terzic.
