Indonesia Masters 2024: Anthony Ginting Secures Round Of 16 Tickets

Men's singles Anthony Sinisuka Ginting strolled to the last 16 of the Indonesia Masters 2024 (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA Anthony Sinisuka Ginting's men's singles continued his dominance over Kantaphon Wangcharoen to get tickets for the second round of the Indonesia Masters 2024.

Ginting secured the first ticket for the Indonesian men's singles after winning two straight games with a score of 21-13 and 21-15 over the Thai representative at Istora Gelora Bung Karno, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, January 24, 2024, afternoon WIB.

"Earlier, the main key was the second set, when he was three points ahead. There he might have studied the first set and changed the pattern of appearance. I realized and after the interval, the coach told me. So, I tried to change it again and Praise God that I could catch up and outperform the game," said Anthony again.

This result makes Ginting now increase his winning record over Kantaphon to 7-3. In addition, this is Ginting's third straight win over his opponent.

Ginting is the first Indonesian men's singles to qualify for the second round. Previously, defending champion Jonatan Christie had already fallen. Jonathan is certain to fail to defend the title after losing against Lu Guang Zu.

In the men's singles sector, Indonesia has deployed four representatives in total. Another representative, Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo, will also play today. Meanwhile, Shesar Hiren Rhustavito has lost in qualifying.
