Hokky Caraka Was Unable To Sleep Thinking Of Less Satisfactory Debut In The 2023 Asian Cup

Hokky Caraka is ready to perform better when the Indonesian national team fights Japan (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team has passed the second match of Group D of the 2023 Asian Cup with a victory against Vietnam. Now, the Garuda squad is looking at the group's last match against Japan.

One of the Red-White Team strikers, Hokky Caraka, admitted that his preparations for a life-to-life match against Japan had been disrupted.

He admitted that he could not sleep after the match against Vietnam. You see, Hokky assessed that his debut in the 2023 Asian Cup in the 1-0 Indonesian national team victory was not optimal due to stage fever.

As is known, Hokky was just fielded by Shin Tae-yong in the 2023 Asian Cup when the Indonesian national team fought Vietnam. He entered in the 69th minute to replace Rafael Struick.

"I was a little nervous. After the match I couldn't sleep because I saw how big my ego was so I couldn't take advantage of the opportunity," said Hokky.

However, after being unable to sleep overnight, Hokky had forgotten the less slick appearance. He was already better prepared and made his shortcomings a lesson.

"So, I will evaluate myself for the next opportunity," said the player from PSS Sleman.

The Indonesian national team will play the last match of Group D of the 2023 Asian Cup against Japan on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. This party is very crucial to secure one automatic ticket to the last 16.

At a minimum, the Garuda Squad can steal one point in order to fight to win one place in the last 16 of the 2023 Asian Cup through the best third-placed route.
