The Indonesian National Team Will Give The Best Resistance In The Last Trial

Rafael Struick admitted that he was ready to fight Iran in the last trial (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team will play a test match against Iran at Al Rayyan Training Site, Qatar, Tuesday (9/1) at 18.00 local time or 22.00 WIB.

This party is the last test of the Garuda Squad before appearing in the 2023 Asian Cup.

The Indonesian national team players admitted that they were ready to fight Iran after conducting a training camp (TC) since December 20, 2023. Throughout the previous TC, Shin Tae-yong's team had also played two test matches against Libya with defeats 0-4 and 1-2.

"We have gone through several weeks of excellent training at TC. Two trial matches (yesterday) are for preparation. Tonight is the last match to prepare for the Asian Cup," said Indonesian national team striker Rafael Struick.

Rafael further said that all the players promised to showcase all their abilities after nearly three weeks of being forged through TC and trials.

In fact, the player from the Dutch club, Ado den Hague, was not afraid of Iran's big name, which is one of the strengths of Asian football. Amir Ghalenoei's team is currently ranked 21st FIFA or the second best after Japan, which occupies the 17th position.

"I think what we need to do is have the best match possible by practicing what we've been training while at TC these past few weeks."

"We will give our best in the game and try to win. So, we'll see," said the 20-year-old player.

For information, the Indonesian national team has held a TC in Turkey until January 6, 2024. They then continued their training camp in Qatar on January 7 in preparation for the final before competing in the 2023 Asian Cup.

The Garuda squad is in Group D of the 2023 Asian Cup which will be held on January 12-10 February 2024 in Qatar.

The Indonesian national team will face Iraq in the inaugural match of the 2023 Asian Cup group on January 15, 2024. Then, they met Vietnam (19/1/2024) and Japan (24/1/2024).
