Satria Muda Launches Team To Face IBL Season 2024

Satria Muda Pertamina launched a team to face the Indonesian Basketball League 2024 (Ferry Tri Adi / VOI).

JAKARTA - Satria Muda Pertamina officially introduced the latest team that is ready to compete in the Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) for the 2024 season on Monday, January 8, 2024, at FX Sudirman, Jakarta.

Old names such as Arki Wisnu, Widyanta Putra Teja, Antoni Erga, Sandy Ibrahim, Juan Laurent, Ali Bagir, and Julian Chalias are still being maintained.

They added strength to the 2024 IBL by bringing in big names, such as Abraham Damar Grahita. The two-time IBL MVP (2020 and 2022) won the new ammunition besides the presence of Karl Patrick, Dame Digne, Armando Yegiwar, and Adrien Chalias.

In addition to strengthening the local squad, Satria Muda has also reshuffled the line-up of foreign players. Curtis 'Trey' Davis and Mycheal 'Myke' Henry were brought in.

The player who is said to have last had a slick portfolio. He once played for the NBA team, Memphiszzlies.

The final foreign player who has just joined the 12th IBL champion is Jarred Shaw. He was hijacked after successfully winning the 2023 IBL title with Prawira Bandung.

Meanwhile, Satria Muda in fact did not only overhaul the ranks of players. The coaching sector did not escape the strengthening for the target of the 2024 IBL champion.

Satria Muda has officially collaborated with Manuel Pena Garces as the new head coach. He was landed with Luis Guil as technical adviser from Spain.

Manu's arrival, as Manuel Pena Garces is called, also shifts the position of Youbel Soundakh. The coach of Satria Muda last season is now occupying an associate coach position that will help the work of the new head coach.

"Our team's preparation is on the right track. Our communication is also getting better with each other. That's most important because communication is the key to a game."

"We continue to grow every day and I make sure we will be ready when the 2024 season begins," said Manuel Pena.

"Of course there is a very good and interesting combination in the team. Young players have energy and senior players have experience."

"All these factors are enough to make us more developed and compete for the title at IBL 2024," said the Spaniard.

In the 2024 season, IBL will implement a home-away match for the first time. Satria Muda will use Hall A Senayan for the first two home parties.

Satria Muda will play their inaugural IBL 2024 match on January 13, 2024 against Borneo Hornbills. A day later they hosted Dewa United Banten.
