JAKARTA The 2023 MotoGP runner-up, Jorge Martin, has threatened to leave Ducati if he does not get a promotion to the Factory team.
Martin, who is currently defending the Pramac Racing team, last season competed closely with Ducati manufacturer Francesco Bagnaia in the race for world champions. The competition lasted until the end of the season.
With his finishing status in second place in the standings at the end of last season and considered a favorite to win this year, Martin began eyeing an opportunity to enter the Factory team the following season.
"I see myself as a manufacturer in 2025. If I don't (enter the Ducati Factory team then) I will look for other options," he said, quoted by Crash.
Throughout the 2023 season, this Spaniard has never asked for promotions to join the Factory team. However, this option began to be thought of towards the end of last season.
If he wins the 2023 championship then the contract clause automatically promotes himself to the Factory team. Because he did not come out as a champion, Martin's position remained in Pramac, which is the Ducati Satellite team.

"My main goal is to go to Ducati (factories). If that can't be done, I have to look for other options. There are many factories that take a big step, we'll see the best option," he said.
"I am happy to continue in Pramac. This is the best place to fight for the championship," he added.
Last season Martin completed the championship with a collection of 428 points. That number is 39 points adrift of Bagnaia who successfully defended the title in this prestigious racing event.
