Goal Disallowed Twice, AC Milan Wins Against Sassuolo

JAKARTA - AC Milan lost two goals which were disallowed so that they only won 1-0 over Sassuolo in the Italian Serie A match at the San Siro Stadium, Sunday, December 31 in the morning WIB.

Coach Stefano Pioli's answer was hit by the issue of his dismissal by giving him victory when Milan hosted Sassuolo. Milan's performance was quite impressive which brought the team to the top three.

Pioli also showed his satisfaction with the team's victory. More than that Milan showed consistency after losing 3-2 against Atalanta in early December 2023.

"This is a team victory. As long as I am here, this team has never given up when facing difficult situations," said Pioli.

"We can actually score more chances and goals. But I think we have made the right approach in this match," he said.

In that match, Milan completely dominated his opponent. Only eight minutes into the game, Ismael Bennacer who met Olivier Giroud's pass managed to break into the opponent's goal.

However, his goal was disallowed because Giroud was already in an offside position when he released the bait to Bennacer.

Milan was not affected by a goal-scoring failure. They again pressed the Sassuolo defense. As a result, winger Rafael Leao broke into the opponent in the 32nd minute.

Again, Milan's goal was disallowed. This time, Leao was declared offside before scoring a goal. The score did not change when the first half was over.

Entering the second half, Milan continued to aggressively attack the Sassuolo defense. Rossoneri's efforts finally paid off when Christian Pulisic broke into the opponent's goal in the 59th minute.

The United States national team winger broke the deadlock after receiving Bennacer's through ball. Pulisic then fired a gastric shot that outwitted goalkeeper Andrea Consigli.

This is Pulisic's sixth goal of the season. He also became the top scorer for the US player in Serie A as well as breaking his compatriot goal record, Weston McKennie.

Pulisic's goal was the only one created in that match. The 1-0 score for Milan lasted until the end of the match. Milan closed the year with a win.

When entering the new year, Milan played a battle in the 16th round in the Coppa Italia by hosting Cagliari. The match is scheduled to be held on January 2, 2024.
