Nathan Tjoe-A-On Will Carry Out The Pledge Of Loyalty To Indonesian Citizens In January 2024

JAKARTA - Good news comes for the Indonesian national team who will again receive additional ammunition. Nathan Tjoe-A-On's naturalization process will be completed soon.

The Dutch-born player who has Indonesian blood is scheduled to take the oath of allegiance to Indonesian citizens (WNI) in the near future. This news was shared by a member of the PSSI Executive Committee (Exco), Endri Erawan.

Endri said that his party was taking care of Nathan's latest schedule to be able to take the oath of Indonesian citizens.

"Nathan may (take the oath of Indonesian citizens) January 2024. Hopefully it can be done as soon as possible because the club has not allowed it. It will be attempted in January, as soon as possible. It will be regulated by the PSSI secretariat," said Endri Erawan in a statement quoted on Friday, December 29, 2023.

Previously, Nathan Tjoe-A-On had indeed undergone the naturalization process. He just needs to take the oath, but it doesn't work.

He was originally scheduled to undergo the oath of Indonesian citizens with Jay Idzes at the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of DKI Jakarta on Thursday, December 28, 2023.

However, this important agenda was not implemented because Nathan was unable to attend. The 22-year-old player did not get permission from his club, Swansea City.

Apart from the schedule for taking the oath of Indonesian citizen Nathan which shifted, the federation seeks to immediately complete the naturalization process and will be good news for the Indonesian national team.

If the process of taking the oath of Indonesian citizens of the player is completed in January 2024, Nathan is expected to be able to strengthen the Indonesian national team when facing Vietnam in the 2026 World Cup Qualification, March 2024.
