Two Candidates For Naturalized Players Can Restu Keppres, Just Wait To Take The Oath

JAKARTA - The naturalization process for Jay Idzes and Nathan Tjoe-A-On will be completed in one step. Both players have been approved through Presidential Decree (Keppres) from President Joko Widodo. This means that they just need to undergo the oath-taking process.

For the oath-taking agenda, PSSI hopes that Jay and Nathan can arrive in Indonesia soon to undergo the process directly.

Previously, the naturalization process for the two players went smoothly after obtaining approval from Commission III and Commission X at the DPR RI Plenary Session.

"Currently, we are waiting for Jay Idzes and Nathan (Tjoe-A-On) to come to Indonesia to take the oath," said PSSI Executive Committee (Exco) member Arya Sinulingga, in his statement on Monday, December 11, 2023.

"Why? After yesterday the process went to the DPR (survey). We thank the leadership of the DPR, then also the leadership of Commission III and its members as well as the leadership of Commission X and its members. So, yesterday's DPR decision included the Plenary Session. We also thank the President," he continued.

After the series of naturalization processes are almost complete and it remains only to take the oath, PSSI really hopes that Jay and Nathan will soon be in Indonesia.

You see, taking the oath cannot be done online, as Justin Hubner did before.

"We are just waiting for Jay and Nathan to come to Indonesia to take the oath. After that, ID cards and passports will also be taken care of, just like Justin Hubner," said Arya.

As is known, Jay Idzes is a Dutch-born footballer and 23 years old who now plays for Venezia FC as a midfielder. However, he chose to go through the naturalization process in order to be able to defend the Indonesian national team.

Meanwhile, Nathan Tjoe-A-On, who is 21 years old, is from the Netherlands and is now defending Swansea City U-21 with a back player position.
