RANS Coach Simba Bogor Optimistic To Meet Targets At IBL 2024

JAKARTA RANS basketball team coach Simba Bogor, Wahyu Hidayat Jati, is optimistic that his squad can meet the target of the top four in the Indonesia Basketball League (IBL) 2024 competition.

RANS Simba Bogor is included in the list of 14 teams that will compete in the highest caste of national basketball. This is their third season after becoming contestants in 2022 and 2023.

Wahyu said the targets given by the management were very likely to be met. Moreover, in the previous two seasons they were newcomers who immediately showed off among other big names.

"It's not impossible. Yesterday we were up to five (big). Yes, we are one step away from trying to get into the top four. Moreover, we have worked hard," said the coach.

RANS, which is owned by celebrity Raffi Ahmad, showed that they did not play games in the first and second seasons at IBL. They were recorded to have immediately penetrated the playoffs.

In the first season, RANS immediately broke through the playoffs by being in eighth position in the IBL final standings for the regular season. Meanwhile, in the second season they finished the season in fifth place in the final standings of IBL 2023.

Wahyu said that with various reshuffles, starting from the team formation, coaching staff, and management, the targets above could be achieved.

He only hopes that foreign players who join can adapt quickly.

"We also see foreign players adapting. If it can run smoothly, I believe we can enter the top four," said the tactician who once handled the Indonesian Men's Basketball National Team.

RANS Simba launched a team to face IBL 2024 on Monday, December 11, 2023, at the OCBC Bogor Fullbelly Sport Center.

The IBL 2024 competition will take place on January 13, 2024. The match format will be carried out with a home and away system.
