JAKARTA Indonesia Basketball League (IBL) has officially signed a collaboration with B League. This was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU).

The MoU signing process was carried out by the President Director of IBL, Junas Miradiarsyah, and the Chairman of BLG, Shinji Shimada, in 100, Century Athlete, Jakarta, Tuesday, December 5, 2023.

Some important things are included in the MoU, one of which is the management of home and away matches that will be implemented by IBL in the 2024 season.

"With our experience, we believe how professional B League is in managing a match," Junas said in a statement.

B League has proven successful at the Asian level after carrying out the format in seven years. For this reason, IBL wants to study the format in order to build the national basketball industry.

"The B League has also proven successful in helping each club build their respective fanbases. This knowledge exchange is what we hope can increase IBL's professionalism going forward," said Junas.

The MoU between IBL and B League contains three pillars of the agreement. The three important things are to increase league professionalism as well as club management, youth coaching, and promotional cooperation between Japan and Indonesia through basketball.

Chairman of BLG, Shinji Shimada, said that his party believes in the potential of IBL in managing basketball in Indonesia.

He said that it is an honor to be able to collaborate with this fast-growing basketball competition.

"Next season, IBL will present a new format that can increase the enthusiasm of fans. We hope that the basketball industry in this country can reach its peak," he said.

B League is not a foreign competition for Indonesian basketball lovers. The reason is, two Indonesian Basketball national team players, namely Abraham Damar Grahita and Brandon Jawato, had competed there.
