Bagnaia Satisfied With Ducati GP24 Although He Finished Outside Top 10

The 2023 Valencia MotoGP test results were less than satisfactory for the Ducati Lenovo Team racer, Francesco Bagnaia (Instagram/@pecco63).

JAKARTA – Francesco "Pecco" Bagnaia is satisfied with the Ducati Desmosedici GP24 prototype even though the 2023 Valencia MotoGP test results have not provided the best results.

Bagnaia rides a Ducati GP24 in the 2024 MotoGP preparation test at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit, Valencia, Spain, on Tuesday, November 28 2023 evening WIB.

Pecco finished 11th in the test, +0.717 seconds behind Maverick Vinales who was at the front. However, Bagnaia is satisfied with the performance of the new Ducati engine.

"I am satisfied with today, the machine is good. Certain aspects (still) need to be worked on. However, compared to last year, we already have a good starting point," he said as reported by Crash.

Furthermore, Bagnaia said that even though improvements were still needed to increase Ducati's potential, the results of the 2023 Valencia MotoGP test had given him and the team a lot of hope.

"Valencia is not the best circuit to try different things. Plus the weather conditions are windy at the moment. However, session after session I feel better," he said.

"We were consistent and fast with new and used tires. So, I'm very happy. Now we can say that the season is really over and we can go home and rest," he said.

Bagnaia finishes the 2023 season as world champion. He won his second title in a row after Jorge Martin lost his competition in the final series at the 2023 Valencia MotoGP.

The Italian racer is the third rider to win back-to-back world championships in the MotoGP era (since 2002) after Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez.
