Luis Diaz Meets His Parents Again After The Kidnapping Case

Luis Diaz reunites with his parents who were kidnapped in Colombia (X/Cibal Football Federation).

JAKARTA The emotional atmosphere colored Luis Diaz, a Liverpool winger, and his family in Colombia on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, local time.

Diaz returned to Bogota, Colombia, before joining the national team for World Cup Qualifiers against Brazil.

The return of the 26-year-old was greeted directly by his mother, Cilenis Marulanda, and his father, Luis Manuel, who was the victim of the kidnapping in early November 2023.

Launching Sky Sports, an upload on X belonging to the Colombian Football Federation published photos of Diaz's meeting with his family.

"This is an interesting meeting of Lucho (Diz's nickname) with his father Mane Diaz and his family," wrote the Colombian Football Federation X account.

"We love you and we are more united than ever! We are all Colombians," Diaz said on his account @LuisFDiz19.

As is known, Diaz's parents were kidnapped about two weeks ago. Diaz's mother was immediately released by the kidnappers, but her father was detained for about 12 days.

According to the Colombian Football Federation, Diaz's father was released by the National Liberation Army (ELN) insurgents.

Meanwhile, Luis Manuel could only describe a little related to the location of his kidnapping to his son. "Many ride horses, very difficult, lots of mountains, rain, and too many insects," he said.
