Indonesia Ensures To Be The General Champion Of Hangzhou APG Chess

HANGZHOU - The Indonesian team confirmed to come out as the overall champion in the sport of chess at the Hangzhou 2023 Asian Para Games. This certainty was achieved after Indonesia increased three gold medals in the final match which was held at Hangzhou Qi-Yuan Chess Hall, Saturday.

The Indonesian para-tour team managed to bring home 10 gold medals, 7 silver medals and 8 bronze medals. Under Indonesia there is the Thai chess team, while the top three are equipped by the Iranian team.

In the fast chess women's team number PI RND 7, the Indonesian team, which was strengthened by Lilis Herna, Yuni Yula and Farta Simanja Nasip, won gold medals.

The women's team numbers for fast chess VI-B2/B3 RND 7, Khairunnisa, Yumna Budiarti Farah and Wijayanti Putri Brahmana Aisah also received the best medals. Then, the last gold medal for Indonesia was able to be secured by Khairunnisa in the individual number of fast chess VI-B2/B3 RND 7.

Young Indonesian chess athlete Khairunnisa did not expect her to bring home gold in the team category or individually. Moreover, this is the first gold she got for the individual category.

"I feel happy that Nissa has never won an individual gold medal. In the team number, I can also help the team win medals. Anyway, I did my best, really keep Nissa's points so that they don't fall into people's hands," said Khairunnisa, quoted from the official statement of the Indonesian Paralympic Committee (NPC). '

Meanwhile, Satrio Gayuh, Hartono Adji and Jumadi won silver medals in the men's team quick chess number VI-B2/B3 RND7. Another silver also came from the team number VI-B1 RND7 which was strengthened by Tita Puspita, Halawa Yustina and Wilma Margareta Sinaga.

Lilis Herna Yulia also presented a silver medal from the individual PI number RND7. In the men's Rapid VI-B2/B3 RND7 number, Gayuh Satrio also secured a silver medal.

Meanwhile, Yadi Sopian, Indra Yoga and Fitriyanto Prasetyo won the bronze medal in the men's team number VI-B1 RND7. The Indonesian team in the PI RND7 number filled by Tirto, Maksum Firdaus and Alfrets Dien also won bronze medals.

In the individual category, Nasip Farta Simanja and Tirto also managed to add to the bronze medal coffers.
