PP IMI Appreciates The Success Of The Mandalika MotoGP

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Motorcycle Association (IMI) Bambang Soesatyo appreciated the success of the Mandalika MotoGP series which ended on Sunday, October 15. Francesco Bagnaia won the main competition session, followed by Maverick Vinales and Fabio Quartararo in third place.

In addition to getting trophies, the riders who managed to climb the podium became champions in each class, namely Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP, were also given an heirloom keris by one of the craftsmen from Lombok. During the three days of the implementation, more than 103 thousand spectators poured out in various viewing places, from the Tribun, Deluxe, to the Premier Royal Box," said Bamsoet in a written statement after attending the Grid Ceremony while watching the Mandalika MotoGP.

He considered that apart from watching the excitement of racing, spectators who came to the circuit could also enjoy various interesting side events, such as a charity merchandise auction signed by MotoGP riders, UMKM bazaars, and fashion shows.

On the other hand, before fighting for the title, MotoGP riders were first invited to clean the Kuta Mandalika beach from trash, and plant coral reefs as well as a message about the importance of protecting the environment for all MotoGP fans in various countries around the world.

The riders were also invited to hold parades around Mataram City, visiting Kuta Lane and Bazaar Mandalika, to buy various typical Lombok art and handicraft products. The success of the 2023 Mandalika MotoGP event is not just a racing sport, but proves the quality of Indonesia as the host of world motorcyclesports," concluded Bambang Soesatyo.
