Harry Kane Still Wants Tottenham Hotspur To Win The Premier League

JAKARTA - Striker Harry Kane has left Tottenham Hotspur and is now Bayern Munich's goal engine. However, Kane still wants Tottenham to win the English Premier League.

Tottenham managed to top the Premier League standings after a 2-1 win over Luton Town with 20 points. The same as Arsenal who are in second place, but the Gunners lost on goal difference.

This is a note in itself because the club duo of North London dominates the Premier League standings. Meanwhile, defending champion Manchester City stepped down from the top position.

The 1-0 defeat to Arsenal made Man City drop to third with 18 points. Likewise, Liverpool, who have 17 points, are in fourth position.

The revolution by new manager Ange Postecoglou has transformed Tottenham into an aggressive and solid team despite Kane's abandonment. Though Postecoglou had hoped the captain would remain at Tottenham.

But Kane, who has scored 280 goals with Tottenham in various competitions, has finally had to leave. The difficulty of Tottenham winning trophies is Kane's consideration to move.

When he was, the highest achievement of The Lilywhites was only the runner-up of Premier Keague 2017 and the 2019 Champions League.

After Kane left, Tottenham actually skyrocketed. Motivated by the new captain Son Heung-min, the North London club was able to occupy the standings after eight matches.

Although it was only the start of the competition, Tottenham became one of the winning candidates this season with Man City da Arsenal.

Tottenham's success did not make Kane regret leaving the club that raised him. He continued to support and hoped the team could win the Premier League.

"It should be emphasized that I am still a Tottenham fan. I am happy to see Tottenham achieve good results," said Kane, who returned to England to strengthen the national team in the Euro 2024 test and qualifying matches.

"No team I want to win more than Tottenham. Of course I have to keep my respect for Bayern. Tottenham is still my concern. But now I want to do my best for Bayern," he said again.

Currently, England is at the top of the standings with 13 points. Meanwhile, Italy has seven points in second place.
