JAKARTA The Indonesian national team (Timnas) coach Shin Tae-yong encouraged Pratama Arhan to move to South Korea after rumors emerged linking the player to Suwon FC.
The 52-year-old tactician said that the decision to join the Korean club was the right step for Arhan compared to staying in Japan with Tokyo Verdy.
"Suwon FC is a very good team and Arhan went to South Korea in my opinion is more suitable than [staying in the League] Japan," said Shin Tae-yong, Monday, October 9, 2023.
According to the news circulating, Arhan has agreed to join Suwon FC. However, until now there has been no official announcement made by the person concerned.
Shin said that whether Arhan had been contracted or not by the South Korean club he did not know for sure.
"But I don't know about the player [already] being contracted or not with Suwon," he said.
Rumors related to Arhan's move to Suwon FC who currently plays in South Korea's highest caste, K-Leagua 1, were initially reported by Korean media, Chosun, last September.
Pratama Arhan himself is still under contract until January 2024 with Tokyo Verdy. Meanwhile, the K-League season center transfer market has not been opened again.
