JAKARTA - The Indonesian contingent added to their medal treasury at the 2023 Asian Games, Wednesday, October 4. Additional medals were won from the sepak takraw and dragon boat sports.

The men's quadrant sepak takraw team had to settle for donating a silver medal after losing 0-2 to Myanmar in the final match played at the Jinhua Sports Center Gymnasium, Jinhua.

Myanmar successfully won this match with a lead in two straight sets, namely 21-13 and 24-22. This result is a setback for Indonesia.

At the 2018 Asian Games, the Indonesian men's sepak takraw quadrant team won a gold medal.

Meanwhile, in the dragon boat sport, the Indonesian contingent won one silver and one bronze medal through the performance of the men's and women's dragon boat teams in the 200m event, which took place at the Wenzhou Dragon Boat Center.

The Indonesian men's dragon boat team immediately got a ticket to the final after finishing 0.893 seconds behind the Thai team in heat 2. However, in the final, Muh Burhan et al. was left behind in fifth position after the start, before getting up to push into the podium zone to finish with a record of 49.404 seconds.

Team China appeared strong 0.940 seconds ahead to take the gold medal, while Thailand took home silver (+0.707).

Meanwhile, the women's team recorded the fastest time of 50.357 seconds in the heat 1 preliminary round, beating Thailand with a margin of 1.383 seconds.

In the grand final round, Ratih as drummer and friends completed the 200m sprint with a record of 54.464 seconds while China was still the toughest opponent after winning the second dragon boat gold, albeit with a narrow margin of 0.660 seconds.

The Thai women's team took home bronze after finishing 1.396 seconds later.

Indonesian rowing national team manager Budiman Setiawan has seen the opportunity to win a dragon boat medal since arriving in Hangzhou.

Even though the rowing team only won three bronze medals and failed to contribute a gold medal, Budiman saw that the dragon boat event had a better chance.

"It's better to be on a dragon boat," said the preacher, as reported by Antara.
