Liverpool Lirik Rodrygo As A Substitute For Mohamed Salah

JAKARTA - Liverpool are reportedly looking at Real Madrid striker Rodrygo as the ideal substitute for Mohamed Salah. The Reds managed to hold back interest from the Saudi Arabian club in Salah during this summer's transfer window. However, there is a feeling that the Egyptian international can be tempted to join the Saudi Pro League in 2024.

According to Fichajes, Liverpool is currently looking for a possible replacement for Salah. They see Rodrygo as one of the main targets, while Real Madrid have the potential to sell him next season.

Karim Benzema's move from Los Blanchos has made Rodrygo an indisputable starter this season. He has also scored one goal in five appearances in La Liga this season.

The Brazil international joined the Santiago Bernabeu from Santos in July 2019. He has represented the Spanish big team 170 times in all competitions, and scored 38 goals and provided 32 assists in the process.

Rodrygo's contract with Real Madrid was only valid until the summer of 2025, and it is believed that the Spanish club could be open to letting him go at the right price.

Moreover, Vinicius Junior cannot be sold by Madrid. Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe is expected to arrive in Bernabeu next year from Paris Saint-Germain.

Real Madrid will also look for a new nine-player number in the near future. Rodrygo is a player in the squad who is able to make a large amount of money if placed in the market.

The report claims that Liverpool should make an offer of more than 100 million euros (Rp1.6 trillion) for the Brazilian, who has proven his worth at the highest level since moving into European competition.

On the other hand, Al-Ittihad is believed to have made a number of major offers for Salah over the summer. However, Liverpool has stated that the Egyptian striker has not been on the sell list this season.

The 31-year-old returned to strength for Jurgen Klopp's side earlier this season. He scored twice and provided four assists in five Premier League appearances.

However, Salah will only have a 12-month contract next summer, and Al-Ittihad is believed to be able to get his services by 2024.

Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, Diogo Jota, and Darwin Nunez are also options for Liverpool in attack.

Liverpool may need to qualify for the 2024-25 Champions League to have a chance to get Rodrygo, who is currently deemed to have no desire to leave Real Madrid.
