Rumors Of Moving To The Gresini Ducati Team, Marc Marquez Says The Satellite Team Can Win MotoGP

JAKARTA Marc Marquez praised the performance of the Gresini Team in the midst of rumors of his move. According to Marquez, the Gresini Ducati Team proved that the satellite team could still compete to win MotoGP.

In a series of San Marino MotoGP events at Misano this weekend, reports emerged that Marquez surprisingly decided to join Gresini Racing next season to work with his brother, Alex Marquez.

If this happens, the six-time MotoGP world champion will terminate his contract with Honda more in order to leave for Ducati. The Gresini team is a team with a lot of history, where the motorbike is traveling very well and my brother has found his place perfectly," Marquez said as quoted by Crash.

The Spaniard revealed that there are many teams with very good technical levels in the paddock. Including, the satellite teams that prove themselves can win the MotoGP race series. Marquez insists that he still has ambitions to become MotoGP world champion.

I am in a phase where I want to become a world champion, and to become a world champion I have to see that the team I follow also wants him. I want to be a rider who when he needs to change things has to react and, when things don't go well in the team and you have to change, you have to react, "explained Marquez.

However, by still under contract with Honda, he admits that he still prioritizes finding the best solution with the Japanese manufacturer so that he can be competitive again in the MotoGP event. Therefore, he was reluctant to discuss further about his future with Honda.

"I haven't touched on that problem with Honda yet because I don't think it's good for the current project. They're very focused, working hard and here we're going to test a new bike. If you intend and have a contract with a brand, the worst thing you can do, in my opinion, is threaten to get out, because everything can explode," Marquez continued.

"So I think my mentality with Honda should be a constructive mentality, looking for the best at all times and I think now, personally, the best thing for this project is to stay united, keep working and I think that's how it is," said Marc Marquez.
