JAKARTA The coach of Kashima Antlers, Atsushi Yanagisawa, has made sharp criticisms of the bad habits of young Indonesian players. It was a rolling act to buy time for the match.

The criticism was conveyed by Yanagisawa after his team finished the match for third position in the 2023 International Youth Championship against Bhayangkara Precision FC, Monday, August 14, 2023.

After the match Yanagisawa admitted that the opposing team had several reliable young players. However, many of them easily complain and roll over to spend match time.

"By playing like that for Indonesia, it will increase from 150 to 100 and increase a bit difficult," he said as quoted by Antara.

Yanagisawa said that the typical game as shown by young Indonesian players is not justified in Japan. Playing like that, he said, would be difficult to make Indonesian football develop.

"In the future, if we can, let's play sporty, if it's not really bad, don't, because with sporty, our ball will automatically progress," said Yanagisawa.

In this match, Yanagisawa's team came off as the winner with 4-3 in the penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw 2 x 45 minutes normal time.

Kashima Antlers previously also fought the Indonesian U-17 national team which was preparing for the 2023 U-17 World Cup which will take place from November 10 to December 2 in the country.
