Rodgers Disappointed Leicester Throwing Opportunities At Leeds

JAKARTA - Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers regretted his team wasting a lot of opportunities when beaten by Leeds United 1-3 in the Premier League at the King Power Stadium on Sunday.

"This is really a disappointing defeat for us," said Rodgers after the match quoted by Antara from Leicester's official website.

"We had a great start, winning 1-0 through a brilliant Harvey goal, and usually after that we played better," he added.

However, what happened then Leicester threw at least 17 attempted shots to widen the lead.

In contrast, Leeds, who played clinically with seven goals from eight attempted shots, were able to turn things around for the win thanks to goals from Stuart Dallas, Patrick Bamford and Jack Harrison.

"We failed to keep up with that. Wasted the ball free and conceded a disappointing goal from our perspective," said Rodgers.

"This is something we have to fix. We have a lot of opportunities, but can't take them," concluded the former Celtic coach.

As a result of that defeat, Leicester, who failed to increase their 39 points, was overtaken by Liverpool (40) who won late in the match. They dropped to fourth place.

Leicester will next visit the relegation zone team Fulham headquarters at Craven Cottage, London, on Wednesday, February 3.
