Indonesian League 1 Results: PSM Defeats Persib Bandung With A Score Of 4-2

JAKARTA - PSM Makassar managed to secure their second victory this season after defeating Persib Bandung in the fourth week of Liga 1 Indonesia season 2023/2024.

Juku Eja, who is the defending champion, stopped Persib with a score of 4-2 while playing in front of his own supporters at Gelora BJ Habibie Stadium, Makassar, Saturday, July 22 evening WITA.

In the first half of the match, PSM has managed to appear dominant. The winner last season, immediately netted three goals against the opposing team guarded by goalkeeper Teja Paku Alam.

The hosts' opener was scored by Kenzo Nambu in the tenth minute or five minutes after the referee ruled out Yuran Fernandes' goal because the owner was offside.

Victor Dethan then carved his name on the scoreboard eight minutes later. Everton then scored the next goal five minutes before the normal break time.

In the second half of the match, Persib managed to reduce the position by two goals in close proximity. The goal began with Yuran's suicide in the 85th minute followed by Marc Klok's curling shot three minutes later.

Victory over Persib is PSM's second win of the four matches they have played. One previous win they got over Persikabo 1973 last week.

Meanwhile, two other matches, Juku Eja won one and lost one each. The result saw them collect seven points so far and fill fifth place in the standings.

They are three points adrift of Dewa United who have collected ten points and sit in first place and two points from Persita Tangerang in second place.

Persita itself has just added three points after a narrow 1-0 win over Persija Jakarta on Saturday evening. Apart from PSM and Persita, Persikabo also managed to secure their first win of the season after winning over Bhayangkara.
