Set Record 100 Goals For Persija Jakarta, Marko Simic: Three Points More Important

JAKARTA - Marko Simic set a record when Persija Jakarta defeated Bhayangkara Presisi FC in the third week of Liga 1 2023/2024 at Patriot Candrabagha Stadium, Bekasi, Sunday, July 16. In that match, Simic scored two goals.

First, Simic scored the equalizer for Persija in the 18th minute with a penalty. He then scored his second goal in the 34th minute.

The two additional goals made him record 100 goals while defending the Kemayoran Tigers. This achievement is quite extraordinary.

Simic is not actually a new face at Persija. He has defended the Kemayoran Tigers before. However, Simic ended the chemistry among the players not so perfect.

However, he believes, over time, it will get better. "Some players I have known for a long time, but there are also some new players. I need time to have the same understanding, to have chemistry, that doesn't happen in one night. But the services of my teammates are very good, I really appreciate it," said Simic.

Meanwhile, Persija Jakarta coach Thomas Doll congratulated the Croatian for scoring 100 goals with Persija Jakarta. He said it was a fantastic number.

"He did very well at Persija. And he has returned here, his expectations are definitely high. So today he scored two very important goals, and his second goal deserves to be in goal of the month," said the former Borussia Dortmund coach.
