JAKARTA - Tennis referee Carlos Bernardes has been rushed to hospital after suffering a heart attack while undergoing quarantine in Melbourne ahead of next month's Australian Open, local media reported Thursday.

A photo of Bernardes being led into an ambulance was posted on social media on Wednesday. Launching Antara, neither Tennis Australia nor ATP has yet to respond to Reuters requests for comment.

The website TenisNews Brazil reports he is fine and is expected to be discharged from hospital on Saturday.

As an ATP Tour official since 1990, Bernardes has served in the men's finals of the 2006 and 2008 US Open as well as the 2011 Wimbledon men's title determination.
