JAKARTA - Indonesian women's training center Puspa Arumsari won the 2023 SEA Games gold medal, Sunday, May 7. Puspa Arum Sari donated the first gold in Indonesia's martial arts sport through the artistic women's singles number with a score of 9.97 against opponents from Malaysia.

Puspa said his gold achievement at the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia paid for a previous failure. He finally completed a delayed mission, in which he only won a silver medal at the previous edition of the SEA Games.

"Failure in Vietnam last year paid off here. Feelings are happy, proud to be able to pay for past failures and this makes me enthusiastic again so that in the future it will be more motivated," said Puspa.

Although his achievements have increased compared to the 31st SEA Games, Puspa admits that he is still not satisfied with the value he recorded in the final. The reason is, the value he recorded is far below the semifinals.

The women's doubles pair also went to the final in the artistic women's doubles today. However, Indonesia, which was decided to have a score of 9.915 or 0.030 points behind the Thai pair, protested and appealed so that the medal award ceremony at that number was postponed.

"Because I'm also in matches, championships, things like that can happen. We are protesting, whatever the result is, how do we respond, hopefully my friends can be heartened and accept whatever the outcome is with relief," he said.
