JAKARTA - Eden Hazard lost his light after moving from Chelsea to Real Madrid. His playing time at Los Blancos was minimal.
The 32-year-old midfielder is rarely fielded by coach Carlo Ancelotti. In fact, Real Madrid have a busy schedule, but Hazard still gets a little chance.
Hazard even only sat on the bench as his team won their first Copa del Rey since 2014 after a 2-1 win against Osasuna in the final.
However, Hazard doesn't seem to intend to leave. He wants to stay and play for Real Madrid in one more year.
"To be honest, I plan to stay at Real Madrid next season," Hazard said.
Hazard at least wants to pass his contract until it expires before thinking about his future.
"I will survive because I want to enjoy the last year of my contract in Madrid," he added.
Hazard's playing time is expected to be smaller next season when Real Madrid are rumored to be recruiting young England midfielder Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.
Despite his current physical condition, he will likely not be played by Carlo Ancelotti when Madrid host Manchester City in their Champions League semi-final first leg match on Wednesday, May 10, early morning WIB.
