Preparation For The 2023 SEA Games, Men's Water Polo Team Wins VAT Tournament In Serbia

JAKARTA - The Indonesian men's water polo national team showed rapid progress in preparation for the XXXII/2023 SEA Games in Cambodia by winning the VAT Cup or Vaterpolo Academy Tasmajdan Cup 2023 tournament in Belgrade, Serbia, 21-23 April.

In the final which took place on Sunday (23/4) local time, Nikola Milosavlejic's team defeated the Serbian League One Division team, VK Belgrade, with a score of 12-11.

Milosavlejic hopes that the victory will be the capital for the Red and White squad to defend the gold medal at the Cambodian 2023 SEA Games which is scheduled to take place on May 5-17.

"After training for more than two weeks, we were tested in a tournament to see progress as a team. How to face opponents and also pressure in the match. There are several things that need to be evaluated. Hopefully this will be valuable capital ahead of appearing at the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia," said Milosavlejic in a written statement received by Antara in Jakarta, Monday.

In preparation for the Cambodian SEA Games, the Indonesian water polo national team underwent a national training camp (pelatnas) in Serbia, which is the country from the coach since April 4.

Not only training, the athletes also participated in a number of tournaments which were also attended by strong teams from Serbia.
