Gloria's Story About Chemistry With Dejan: I Like To Leave Control, Like To Ngomel

JAKARTA - The couple Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja/Dejan Ferdinansyah are one of Indonesia's mainstays in the mixed doubles sector. However, their performance was considered inconsistent.

Gloria said she was still looking for "chemistry" with Dejan Ferdinansyah. He said one way is to strengthen communication with each other.

Glo, Gloria's nickname, herself and Dejan still continue to learn to understand each other's game while on the pitch.

"It's not easy to communicate in the field. What I feel is that it's really difficult, until now I'm still studying very well with Dejan," Glo said during a fan meeting in Depok, West Java, Saturday, April 15.

Gloria admits that she is still evaluating every game and fixing it to prepare for the games in the future.

Not infrequently, Gloria, who is more senior than Dejan, often nags on the field when her badminton partner makes mistakes.

"Sometimes I don't like getting under control, huh. Like to nag, but after that, that's it. Sorry, I've been talking on the pitch. But I'm good," he said.

Gloria also often chats casually with Dejan off the field to strengthen chemistry when she is not holding her own racket.

"After playing or off the field, communication is closer, communication is better. If you can't do that in the field, try looking for chemistry outside the field," said Gloria.

The closest competition between Gloria and Dejan is the 2023 Badminton Asia (BAC) Championship which will be held in Dubai on April 25-30. PBSI sent 20 names at the championship.
