JAKARTA - Chelsea have finally officially appointed Frank Lampard to fill the vacant coach seat after Graham Potter left. Asked to stay until the end of the season, Lampard admitted that he easily made a choice when he got this offer.

"It was a pretty easy decision for me. It's my club in a career as a player and manager. I had coached here before," Lampard was quoted as saying by ESPN on Friday, April 7.

After officially reaching an agreement with the Blues, Lampard thanked him for the trust given to return to training. This opportunity makes Lampard quite confident, especially since he already knows the squad, training ground, and fans to be found.

With the existing conditions, Lampard promised to pay for the trust and give the best for Chelsea. However, he is reluctant to think about the target of becoming a permanent manager because for him the most important thing right now is to do the job optimally in stages.

"It won't be too rushed. After that we'll see what happens," said Lampard.

On the other hand, Todd Boehley as the owner of Chelsea said that the decision to bring Lampard back at the end of the season is the best option. That's because according to him the Lampard figure is really needed by the team at this time even though at the first opportunity he could not bring the team to the fullest.

"As we continue the overall process to determine a permanent manager, we want to give clubs and fans a clear and stable plan for the remainder of the season," Boehly said.

"We will open ourselves up to get a chance to achieve success and Lampard has the character and quality that Chelsea needs to achieve the finish," he concluded.
