FIFA President Gianni Infantino Gives Argentine Code To Replace Indonesia As Host Of The 2023 U-20 World Cup

JAKARTA - Indonesia will certainly cancel hosting the 2023 U-20 World Cup after the official FIFA letter was announced on Wednesday, March 29. After that, Argentina is predicted to be the country that will hold this status.

The certainty about hosting a replacement for the 2023 U-20 World Cup, said FIFA President Gianni Infantino, during a press conference at the South American Football Federation (CONMEBOL) office in Paraguay on Thursday, March 30 local time.

In his statement, Infantino also seemed to give a code that Argentina was a substitute country that was deemed appropriate to host.

"We all know Argentine football and this is a country that can clearly hold competitions at this level. With the tradition of football in Argentina, there is a very good possibility," Infantino said as quoted by the Daily Mail on Friday, March 31.

Sources also said that on the same occasion Infantino admitted that Argentina had officially submitted to FIFA to run as the host. From the news, it is known that the decision on a new replacement country will be known in the next two or three days.

Previously, it was known that Indonesia was dropped from the host status of the 2023 U-20 World Cup starting from the FIFA decision to cancel the drawing agenda. Where the moment should have been held on March 31 in Bali.
