League Results 1: Persija Stop Bad Notes By Thin Win Over PSIS Semarang

JAKARTA - Persija Jakarta returned to winning ways after defeating PSIS Semarang in the 2022/2023 Indonesian League 1 continuation. The team nicknamed the Kemayoran Tigers secured three through Riko Simanjuntak's single goal at Wibawa Mukti Stadium, Bekasi, West Java, Thursday, March 16 evening WIB.

This result also ended Persija's poor record in the previous three matches. The Kemayoran Tigers only drew once and had to suffer defeat twice.

One draw and two previous defeats were obtained in a row by the troops made by Thomas Doll when they faced Madura United (0-0), Borneo (1-3), and Persik Kediri (0-2).

Meanwhile, the three points against PSIS are Persija's 16th win from 29 matches they have played this season. As for the other 13 matches they drew six times and lost seven times.

Defeating PSIS made Riko and his friends move up to second place in the standings with a collection of 54 points. They are 12 points adrift of PSM Makassar in the first position.

Liga 1 today also brought Bali United together with Madura United. Both teams had to settle for sharing points after closing the match with the same score 1-1.

The two teams are currently in fifth and sixth positions. Madura is right behind the last team in the top four with 49 points, while Bali is trailing in sixth place with only one point gap.
