YOGYAKARTA The highest caste competition for the 2023 Indonesian Proliga volleyball will end soon. Four teams, two women's teams and two men's teams each, have locked tickets to the grand final.

The two men's teams that qualified for the grand final were defending champions Jakarta LavAni Allo Bank and Jakarta Bhayangkara Precision.

In the women's team, defending champion Bandung Bank bjb Tandamata also qualified for the final and will face Jakarta Pertamina Fastron.

The grand final will begin with a duel for the women's team, Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 17.00 WIB. This match was preceded by a third place match between Jakarta BIN and Gresik Petrokimia Pupuk Indonesia at 14.00 WIB.

Meanwhile, the men's final match will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2023. The third-placed match between Jakarta STIN BIN and Surabaya BIN Samator will precede the duel.

From the women's sector, the record for winning between Bank bjb and Pertamina Fastron this season is 2-2 out of four clashes. Two defeats suffered by Bank bjb occurred in the regular round.

The two wins that were won occurred in the final four. The results then helped Bank bjb become the champion in the second round of the final four match.

Bank bjb has had more achievements in winning than Pertamina Fastron. Since his participation in the Proliga 2003 stage, the team from Bandung City has won three times: 2003, 2006, and 2022.

"This year we want to present the title again like in 2022," said Bank bjb coach Alim Suseno, who a year ago brought Bank bjb to win the Proliga.

However, Bank bjb did not compete in a row. After winning 2006, the club owned by the West Java Regional Government was absent long before taking part again in 2017.

Meanwhile, Pertamina Fastron, which has participated in the Proliga since 2013 until now, has only won twice, respectively in 2014 and 2018. They have also been runners-up three times, namely 2016, 2017, and 2019.

In the men's sector, these two finalist teams have beaten each other this season. However, LavAni won three times over Bhayangkara who won only once.

Overall, LavAni has only lost once to 14 matches during this season's Proliga competition. The record in final four is also so sharp, which is no less than once than six matches.

The grand final will also be held at the Amongrogo Sports Hall, Yogyakarta. Proliga Director Hanny S. Surkatty said the grand final this time would be different from the previous editions.

"This year we operate video challenges. So we have better quality," said Hanny.
