Complete! 24 Countries Have Qualified For The 2023 Indonesia U-20 World Cup

JAKARTA – The participants for the 2023 U-20 World Cup which will take place in Indonesia are complete. The last four tickets were obtained by the semifinalists of the ongoing U-20 Asian Cup.

Japan became the last country to ensure that they qualify for Indonesia after defeating Jordan last Sunday. A total of 24 countries in the final round have also been completed.

Before Japan, three of the last four tickets were obtained by Iraq, the host of the Asian Cup, Uzbekistan, and South Korea.

Iraq qualified after beating Iran, Uzbekistan qualified after overcoming Australia on penalties, while South Korea sent China home in extra time drama.

The four new tickets mean that Asia will have five representatives at the U-20 World Cup later. That includes automatic tickets for Indonesia, which is the host.

Apart from Asia, the confederation that will have five representatives in Indonesia will be UEFA (Europe). The five representatives of the Blue Continent are England, France, Italy, Israel, and Slovakia.

Meanwhile, Africa (CAF), Latin America (CONMEBOL), and North America (CONCACAF) each got four tickets. The two remaining tickets are for Oceania rations (OFC).

The 2023 U-20 World Cup will take place in Indonesia from May 20 to June 11. Six stadiums are provided for the age group competition matches.

The draw for group division will also be held on March 31 in Bali. Indonesia, which is the host, automatically gets a place in Group A.
