After Beating Bhayangkara Precision, LavAni Ensures Tickets For The 2023 Proliga Grand Final

SOLO - Defending champion of the Jakarta Proliga LavAni Allo Bank became the first men's team to advance to the grand final this season after successfully defeating Jakarta Bhayangkara Precision.

The third series of the second round of the four final ended in LavAni's victory with 3-2 (20-25, 25-20, 25-20, 20-25, 15-12) at the Sritex Arena Solo Sports Center, Friday, March 10, 2023.

LavAni was actually left behind in the first set 20-25 before rising and winning in the next two sets in a row with the same score of 25-20. However, they lost in the fourth set, forcing the match to the decision set.

Bhayangkara successfully performed well in the fourth set and won with the same final score as the previous three sets to make the position balanced to 2-2.

The figures continued with each other in the determining set or fifth set. The tight match had resulted in a position of 12-12, but after that the team belonging to the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono ended Bhayangkara's resistance with a final score of 15-12.

"We are grateful to be able to win. The presence of Mr. SBY and the Board of Trustees is our motivation to be able to ensure tickets to the grand final, tonight," said Assistant Coach LavAni Samsul Jais in a statement received.

The victory confirmed Dio Zulfikri et al. at the top of the standings with five wins without losing in the final series four. The accumulated value increased to 11 points.

"We made a lot of mistakes in the first and fourth sets. However, in the fifth set, recieve and counter attack, good colleagues, so they can win," added one LavAni star, Fahri Septian Putratama.

For Bhayangkara, the result kept him in third place in the standings, with two wins and three defeats. However, their value increased by one point, to 9 points.

Second place remains occupied by his closest rival, Jakarta STIN BIN which has won three wins and two defeats with 8 points.

"There are still a lot of free balls that can't produce points, it's a loss for us," said Bhayangkara assistant coach Dwi Nurcahyo.

Now, his team must really work hard to face the last match, namely Surabaya BIN Samator in the same arena, Saturday, March 11.

"Inevitably, we have to win 3-0 over Samator, so that we still have a chance to go to the grand final. Even then, we still have to wait for the results of the STIN BIN versus LavAni match, Sunday, March 12, 2023," he said.
