JAKARTA - Erling Haaland seemed so promising at the start of the season with Manchester City. Goal after goal was created by the Norwegian player.

He has led the Premier League goalscorer list this season with 25 goals in 20 games.

However, lately Haaland began to drag goals. City's game started not to match his style.

In City's last game, Haaland didn't even move much. He didn't have a single touch that threatened the opponent's goal when his team lost 0-1 to Totteham Hotspur.

"I think we only see 60 percent Erling Haaland. You think of the goals he gets against West Ham when there's space in the back and he goes back," Carragher told Sky Sports.

"I know it doesn't always exist because of City's way of playing. He comes from a league that relies heavily on counterattacks (Bundesliga), where games start from end to end."

"You see the speed there, we don't see it here. He might choose the wrong club to really give his best," concluded Carragher.

He considered that starting to shrink Haaland's goal tap was not to blame on the players. Carragher saw that it was due to City's unsuitable style with Haaland.

"City will not play end-to-end football. That's not Pep Guardiola's way. The players don't have the energy or power to play like that. They build slowly and push the opponent back into their box and play from there," said Carragher.

"Haaland has scored 25 league goals and many of them have occurred in the penalty box. However, we don't see a complete package of what the player can do because of the team he is defending," he concluded.
