5 Substitute Candidate Graham Potter If Owner Change His MIND, Some Still Unemployed

JAKARTA - Graham Potter faced great pressure at Chelsea. This follows a series of unsatisfactory results for the Blues in recent weeks.

The Blues have been eliminated from two domestic title hunts, namely the FA Cup and League Cup. Most recently, they were eliminated by Manchester City in the third round of the FA Cup with a score of 4-0.

Chelsea legend Frank Labeouf thinks Potter's time at the club is enough. The fans were even embarrassed by his performance and had sang Thomas Tuchel's chants, a former Chelsea manager during an away game.

However, Chelsea's management has not thought of expelling the former Brighton and Hove Albion boss. The owner, Todd Boehly, still seems to believe in the manager's abilities.

Interestingly, British media, The Sun, has compiled a list of candidates who can replace the 47-year-old coach at Chelsea. Instead, the Blues management changed their minds.

Here are the five names of managers who could be candidates for Chelsea's new boss:

Mauricio Pochettino

The former manager of Tottenham Hotspur has become a favorite name to replace Graham Potter at Chelsea. He is still unemployed since leaving Paris Saint Germain (PSG) at the end of last season.

The 50-year-old has faced many matches against Chelsea when he was still training Spurs.

Brendan Rodgers

Brendan Rodgers currently serves as manager of Leicester City since 2019. While leading Jamie Vardy et al he managed to present the FA Cup and Community Shield trophies.

Rodgers is actually quite taken into account, but unfortunately the Foxes' performance this season is not satisfactory. If he moved closer to Chelsea, he would not be a foreigner, as Rodgers had previously coached Chelsea U18 and U21.

Diego Simeone

The Atletico Madrid coach has led the Spanish club since 2011. He is also reportedly the highest paid coach in the world for 36.2 million (Rp684 billion) for a year.

52-year-old Simeone may have impressive work records, but he doesn't seem to fit into Chelsea's squad.

Zinedine Zidane

Zinedine Zidane is later said to be still loyal to wait for the opportunity to coach the French national team. But the wait was disbursed by the French Football Federation which chose to extend Didier Deschamps' contract until 2026.

This situation could open up opportunities for Chelsea management to attract Zidane as a manager. Moreover, he is also still unemployed since leaving Real Madrid at the end of the 2020/2021 season.

Thomas Tuchel

The former Chelsea manager may not necessarily want to come back. But fans called for his name when the away match against Manchester City.

It is suspected to be a form of longing.

The German manager briefly said about his uncomfortable feelings after his dismissal from the Blues last September. However, bringing Tuchel back as Chelsea's clever move to save the team.
