Nate Diaz Was Reminded Of The Duel Trilogy With McGregor During A Comeback To The UFC

JAKARTA Arts star Nate Diaz was reminded to make a trilogy duel against Conor McGregor when both comebacks rise to the octagon later.

That was conveyed by former challenger for the UFC Chael Sonnen title who is currently changing professions to become a pundit.

He reminded Diaz of a possible trilogy against McGregor as the American fighter promoted his duel plans.

"What I want to say is that all options are currently on the table. The option also includes returning to the UFC and fighting Conor McGregor," he said.

Diaz first beat McGregor in March 2016. However, he lost a thrilling rematch five months later.

Diaz is currently a free agent after deciding to step down from the promotion after fighting Tony Ferguson at UFC 279 in September years. He left after his contract with the UFC expired.

Currently, Diaz is aggressively launching his own fight promotion. He is associated with boxing matches against YouTube stars Jake Paul and Floyd Mayweather.

"He's not just going to come back. There will be new and fresh conversations that can be done and I think he wants to have that conversation," said Sonnen.

McGregor had previously challenged Diaz for this trilogy duel. He wrote on his personal Twitter account a week after Diaz won at UFC 279.

"Congratulations to Nate Diaz for completing his contractual obligations with the UFC, and as a bona fide superstar audience. An extraordinary achievement. A fair game. Our trilogy will happen," McGregor challenged.

The win over Ferguson was Diaz's last fight when his UFC contract expired. Meanwhile, McGregor has not competed since July 2021 when his leg broke against Dustin Poirier.
