Madura United Claims PSSI's Seriousness Regarding The Continuation Of League 1

JAKARTA - The management of Madura United has asked for PSSI's seriousness about the continuation of the Indonesian League 1, which until now has yet to find a bright spot when it will resume after experiencing several delays.

Quoted by Antara from the club's official website, Thursday, December 17, the President Director of PT. The United Madura Ball Polana (PT PBMB) Zia Ulhaq asked PSSI to ensure the follow-up to the competition decree which is planned to be held in February 2021.

"We ask PSSI to have a clear follow-up this December. Don't let the club wait for uncertainty like this," said Zia.

One thing that is emphasized is about licensing from the police. He asked the extent of the coordination between PSSI, PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) as the competition operator, and the police regarding the operating license.

This permit is an obstacle for PSSI and PT LIB to be able to start the kickoff again. In the initial plan, PSSI scheduled the competition to be held again on October 1. At that time the league operator had also sent match schedules to the entire team.

However, what happened was that the competition had to be postponed several days before the match started on the grounds that it had not received permission from the police and could not be held at the end of the year due to clashes with the Pilkada.

PSSI then again issued Decree Number SKEP / 69 / XI / 2020. The letter states that the competition will be held again at the beginning of the year and hopes to run in February 2021.

Even so, no more reports have been received by the club regarding its certainty. The club was made anxious because it had to pay wages even though it was 25 percent and many players' contracts expired at the end of December.

"There is no news, whether there is a permit or not. How is the progress of the permit effort to the authorities and what are the obstacles if it has not been obtained," concluded Zia Ulhaq.
